It’s been a long time since I wrote anything for this blog and I’ve been meaning for some time about to start it up again. I moved to Denmark last year and started a new research project about public space in the Roman Empire. I’m still very interested in Greece in the Roman period but I now want to work on other parts of the Empire as well. Since I’m also not only going to be working on monuments and statues anymore it didn’t seem to make sense anymore to use the title “Monuments of Roman Greece”. A few months ago I played around with the title and see now that I changed it to “Public Space in the Roman World” – I’d forgotten I did that – but even that didn’t feel as if it would give me the scope to write about everything I want to write about. Although I want to blog mainly about my work I also want, every now and then, to write about other things I find interesting or important, as I’ve sometimes done here. So, I’ve started a completely new blog: https://thefourthsophstic.com
It is always nice if people read the things I post so I’m hoping that some of you who’ve followed me here will be kind enough to move over to the new site and follow me there. It’s going to take time to build up a readership again so I’d appreciate any help in spreading the word – through social media or out in the real world.
So, thanks to everyone who’s read this blog. I hope to “see” you all again soon.
